UKPD Liaisons

LGBTQ* Resources collaborates with University of Kentucky Police on a variety of ongoing initiatives.  Central to our partnership are two UKPD Liaisons who serve as point persons for community concerns and help facilitate ongoing constructive dialogues between law enforcement and students, faculty, and staff members with historically marginalized identities. In addition to meeting regularly with LGBTQ* Resources staff to assess campus climate and needs, the UKPD liaisons also:

  • Represent UKPD at office events throughout the year (Fall Welcome Back, Pride Week, Employee Picnics) to highlight UKPD supports and their roles as resources
  • Serve as important resources for members of our community who have safety-related concerns
  • Connect conversations and promote dialogue between UKPD and campus groups, including support for an annual LGBTQ* workshop for UKPD officers and staff
