SafeZone Workshop and Guest Speaking Requests

SafeZone Workshops are 90 minute workshops to equip individuals to be more aware and active allies. This workshop explores LGBTQ* identities, strategies for supporting student experiences, and exploring LGBTQ* related campus and community resources.

The Office of LGBTQ* Resources will host open registration all-campus SafeZone workshops during the year. Requested workshops will only be accepted as available for specific, special or large groups,. Individuals are encouraged to attend open registration opportunities.

To schedule a different workshop, discussion, or presentation by the Office of LGBTQ* Resources for your class, group or organization, please complete our online request form, link here.

For workshops and resources regarding K - 12 schools, we recommend reaching out to the Bluegrass Chapter of GLSEN. Every day GLSEN works to ensure that LGBTQ students are able to learn and grow in a school environment free from bullying and harassment. Together, we can transform our nation’s K-12 schools into the safe and affirming environment all youth deserve. More information can be found here: https://www.glsen.org/chapters/bluegrass.
