Jennifer Cowley MSN, RN
Senior Lecturer

Jennifer Cowley received her BSN from Eastern Kentucky University in 1981. She worked in a variety of acute care settings over the next five years as a bedside staff nurse caring for a wide variety of ill adults. This experience served her well – and after obtaining her MSN from UK in 1987, she began teaching in the undergraduate program here. She has nearly 25 years' experience as a clinical instructor and lecturer. She co-initiated, co-coordinated, and taught in the undergraduate pathopharmacology course for five years. She is currently coordinator and lecturer in the adult med-surgical course, co-coordinator of the Student Nurse Academic Practicum (SNAP) summer extern program (a collaborative with UK Healthcare) and co-coordinator of the capstone Career Management course. Cowley was awarded the 2010 Provost's Outstanding Teaching Award and the College of Nursing's Louise J. Zegeer Award in the spring of 2010. She continues to declare that her favorite day of the week is when she is working directly with the students, whether it be in the classroom or clinically, at the patient’s bedside.
