Julie Ossege PhD, FNP-BC, FNAP, FAANP
Associate Professor

Dr. Julie Ossege teaches in the DNP Primary Care Track. She received her RN diploma in 1982, BSN from the College of Mt. St. Joseph in 1986, MSN in 1989 and PhD in Nursing Science in 1993 from the University of South Carolina. Dr. Ossege has over 20 years of academic experience. Prior to returning to UK in 2015, she was the MSN Program Director at Northern Kentucky University from 2009-2015. Dr. Ossege teaches several DNP core courses, as well as FNP specialty courses. She has been a board certified (ANCC) Family Nurse Practitioner since 1989. Prior practice experience includes primary care, retail health, homeless clinics, horse racing backtrack clinic and allergy and asthma care across the lifespan.
Dr. Ossege currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Nurses Association and is a past Regional Director, Board Member, and Chair of the Research Committee of the Kentucky Association of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives. She is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and was elected a Fellow in 2018. In 2017, Julie was inducted into the National Academics of Practice as Distinguished Fellow - Practitioner.
