Gretchen Wells MD, PhD, FACC

Gretchen Wells received her PhD (Medical Genetics) and MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine resident and Cardiology fellowship at the Wake Forest School of Medicine where she was on faculty for a number of years before relocating to Kentucky in 2015. At the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, she is the Thomas Whayne Professor of Women’s Heart Health. She is a co-investigator in the NHLBI funded Women’s Health Initiative and serves on the state maternal mortality committee.

Interests
Cardiovascular disease in women, including pregnancy as well as microvascular disease and other manifestations of ischemic heart disease in women. She also has a particular interest in psychological attributes in cardiovascular disease.
