Applications are now open for the Fall 2021 class. Deadline to apply to UK Admissions is March 1, 2021.
- Bachelor's degree
- Cumulative 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Three-credit-hour course in general psychology with a minimum grade of "C"
Average of 2.75 GPA for the following natural science courses with a minimum grade of "C" in each:
- Three-credit-hour course in human anatomy
- Three-credit-hour course in human physiology
- Three-credit-hour in general biology
- Chemistry course equivalent to CHE 103 at UK
Click here for transfer equivalency information. One year of general college chemistry with a minimum grade of "C" in each course is also acceptable, in place of CHE 103. Additionally, one 3 credit hour course in microbiology is a prerequisite to pathopharmacology taken in the first semester, so that must be completed by the time of enrollment if admitted.
To apply as a transfer student, submit your application to UK Admissions. To do this, go to uky.edu/admission/transfer and select the Transfer Student Application.
All transcripts should be sent to the UK Admissions Office unless you are a graduate of UK.

Interviews are conducted via an online platform. You will need a computer with a camera to record your responses to the video questions. Applicants will receive an email invitation to complete the interview after the initial screening for completion of the course and GPA requirements. Applicants not selected for an interview will also be notified that they will not be considered further.
Final Admission Decisions
Final decisions will be made within three business weeks after interviews are completed. Letters are mailed via email to the address provided in your application, and all students who are interviewed receive a letter. Please be sure all contact information is correct on the application forms.
The TOEFL, administered online, is required of all applicants for whom English is not their native language. Minimum scores accepted are:
- Cumulative – 90
- Speaking – 26
- Listening – 22
- Writing – 20
- Reading – 22.
You must submit this TOEFL score directly to the College of Nursing in addition to completing the application. If your degree is from a foreign institution, you must submit an evaluation by WES or one of the other admission services.
