Pediatrics

The pediatric nurse practitioner provides specialized healthcare across a variety of settings to children from birth to young adult.

• The acute care pediatric nurse practitioner provides family-centered care to pediatric patients with acute, complex, critical and chronic illness.

• The primary care pediatric nurse practitioner provides care focused on health maintenance, health promotion and assessment/management of common acute and chronic conditions in children.

Both acute care and primary care pediatric nurse practitioners have in-depth knowledge and experience to meet the specialized physiologic and psychological needs of children.

Kentucky Children’s Hospital

Kentucky Children's Hospital is located within UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital and provides advanced care for children. The children’s hospital provides specialized emergency transport and the Neonatal ICU provides Level III care.

College of Nursing faculty members provide support to advance evidence-and research-based nursing practice in the children's hospital.
