2020 Patterson Spring Crisis Simulation Conducted Successfully!
On February 21st and 22nd, the Patterson School conducted its seventeenth annual Spring Crisis Simulation. This year, students portrayed members of diplomatic teams at an emergency meeting of the Organization of American States in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The delegates dealt with challenges associated with refugees, migrants, drug cartels, and ongoing violence in Venezuela. As in past years, a team of recent graduates developed and executed the simulation, while other graduates served as mentors for the teams. The University of Kentucky School of Journalism also participated in the event, covering the simulation from an in-universe perspective and developing valuable experience in written and video journalistic practices.
