Developing a tick-borne disease surveillance and mapping system for Kentucky

Completed Pilot Project

The goals of this project are to 1. Conduct tick drags, speciation, and pathogen diagnosis in 20 counties with potential for agricultural and forestry worker exposure to tick-borne diseases, and 2. Develop an interactive online tick-borne disease mapping application to display information from tick disease surveillance, potential risk factors, and preventive measures.

Made Online interactive mapping application that describes the distribution of tick species, pathogens, and high-risk areas for tick-borne disease in Kentucky. Made online tool to facilitate spatio-temporal analysis of disease and risk factors.
