Parents and Families

K Week is August 13 - 16, 2020!

K Week, UK’s fall welcome week, is four days of events and activities designed to help ease the social and academic transition to the University of Kentucky for new students.

Your Wildcat should attend K Week because...
  • It’s an easy way to meet new people! New students attend events with their assigned small groups, known as K Teams.

  • It’s easy to customize their experience. There are a few key events that all new students are expected to attend; otherwise, students can pick and choose events that work best for them.

  • It’s the best place to get the inside scoop about academic success and expectations.

In an effort to keep our UK community safe, we will not be hosting in-person K Week family events. However, we will be hosting virtual events for our new UK families, including the New Student Induction Ceremony. Virtual K Week family events will begin on Thursday, August 13. More information about virtual events will be available later this summer.

Residence Hall Move-in

More information about the residence hall move-in will be available this summer.

New Student Induction Ceremony

Students are invited to join President Eli Capliouto and other members of the university community to commemorate the start of a new school year. Watch with pride as your new student officially becomes a part of the Wildcat community at the New Student Induction Ceremony. This event will be live-streamed online for families.
