STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2020-2021

 

 

Lexington Environmental Youth Outreach is seeking mentors! 

Lexington Environmental Youth Outreach (LEYO) is an organization at the University of Kentucky that seeks to bridge the environmental education/experience divide that currently exists in our schools and our society. We recognize that environmental risks and hazards are not uniformly distributed among society, and we can make a difference in addressing this injustice even in our Lexington community! Through mentorship, engaging curriculum, and field trips, college mentors will teach elementary-age students about the environment and their connection to it, while also providing field trip and immersive opportunities. We are currently recruiting mentors for the 2020-21 school year. This year will be unique, as there will be many opportunities to design curriculum, take on leadership roles, and make decisions which will have a long-lasting impact on LEYO in the future! SGA Coordinator Positions

 You can find the list of coordinator positions and expectations by clicking on the SGA Coordinator Application link. If you have any questions or concerns, please email sga.deputy@uky.edu 

  • Full Executive Team meetings are on Wednesdays at 7 or 8 PM via Zoom, but coordinators' attendance is either required or optional depending on a cabinet's expectations. However, this requirement will be noted within each cabinet description. 

  • Applicants selected for the interview round will have a Zoom interview with an Executive Director or members of the SGA Executive Team.    

  • All SGA coordinators will complete assignments/tasks remotely through Microsoft Teams and meet via Zoom with directors. 

  • The application deadline is September 1st, 2020 at 11:00 AM

 

Sustainability Internship Program

The Office of Sustainability partners with the Student Sustainability Council and the Tracy Farmer Institute for Sustainability and the Environment (TFISE) to provide exciting and meaningful undergraduate internship opportunities with campus sustainability units. These paid positions last from August-May.
