Sunday, April 9, 11 a.m. – noon – Ride through Lexington History

Downtown Lexington; departs from Wildcat Wheels Bicycle Library

Learn about Lexington’s rich past on this ride led by Wildcat Wheels staff. The tour will stop at 15 historical sites, and is expected to cover 4-5 miles at a leisurely pace. Please sign up to attend this free tour via the Facebook event page.

Monday, April 10, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Get Your DIY On! Fix-It Station Demonstrations

DIY Stations on Patterson Drive and at the Jacobs Science Building and W.T. Young Library

While you may know that the University of Kentucky has eight do-it-yourself bicycle repair stations on campus, do you know how to use them? Wildcat Wheels Bicycle Library staff will join members of the UK Bicycle Advisory Committee in breaking down how to use these resources should you ever be in need of a quick fix!

Tuesday, April 11, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. – Bike Voucher Panel

225 Patterson Hall

Considering making the switch to bike commuting? Use your lunch break to learn more about UK’s bike voucher program and find out if it’s a good fit for you. Three current bike voucher recipients will talk about their experiences with the program. Bicycle Advisory Committee representatives will also be on hand to answer questions about the nuts and bolts of the program. Brown bag lunches welcome.

Wednesday, April 12, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. – Bike to Campus Day & On-the-Spot Safety Checks

Mining & Minerals Plaza

Bike to Campus Day is turning five! Celebrate all things two-wheeled by pedaling over for a bicycle-powered smoothie and some bike-related giveaways. While you’re there, get an on-the-spot safety check of your ride courtesy of the Wildcat Wheels Bicycle Library and their mobile shop and learn about campus and local bike resources at your disposal.

Thursday, April 13, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. - Spring Bike Maintenance Clinic

Wildcat Wheels Bicycle Library (located on the ground floor of Blazer Dining)

Drop by Wildcat Wheels during their regular shop hours for help with getting your bike ready for spring rides, including Thursday night’s Tour de Downtown Art. The Wildcat Wheels mechanics will teach you how to fix flat tires and repair rusty chains, as well as answering any questions you have about basic bike repair and campus bike resources.

Thursday, April 13, 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. - Tour de Downtown Art

Downtown Lexington; departs from Alumni Plaza (Wildcat Statue)

Get a unique perspective on some of downtown Lexington's murals on this popular group Bike Week ride, which is back for the third year. Please note, this tour will cover some new works of art than the past tours. The ride will be led by experienced instructors and the tour will include detailed information about each piece. The tour is expected to cover 4-6 miles at a leisurely pace. Please sign up to attend this free tour via the Facebook event page.

Friday, April 14, All Day - Great Minds Think A Bike Twitter Contest


Do you love riding your bike to, from and around UK’s bike-friendly campus? Show us your Big Blue bike pride by tweeting a photo of you and your bike on campus, and tagging @UKParking. The photos with the most likes and retweets may be eligible for bike-related giveaways. This contest is limited to current UK students only.
