Transportation Services Offers Holiday Bike Storage

For the first time, University of Kentucky Transportation Services is offering an option for students and employees to store their bicycles out of the elements during the semester break. This program is open all members of the campus community, including Big Blue Cycles participants.

Those interested in participating should bring their bicycles to Wildcat Wheels Bicycle Library (WWBL), located on the first floor of Blazer Dining. Bikes will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis, starting on Friday, Dec. 8. The indoor storage will be capped at 150 bicycles.

Students and employees must have a UK bicycle permit in order to participate in the holiday bike storage program. WWBL staff will issue permits during the drop-off hours to those who do not have them.

WWBL is open 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily from Monday, Dec. 11 through Friday, Dec. 15.

Bicycles not picked up by Friday, Jan. 19 will be charged a storage fee of $2.50 per day.
