Reminder: Move-In Traffic and Parking Impact

As a reminder, Move-In — combined with current construction occurring on campus — will impact parking and transportation routes throughout the campus at various times on Thursday, Aug. 17 and Friday, Aug. 18. Members of the campus community are encouraged to allow extra time in their commutes. A complete list of one-way streets, no parking areas and high traffic locations can be found here.

Additionally, those who park in the South Limestone Garage (PS #5) should expect an increase in visitors parking in the facility on both days, and plan accordingly.

Move-In to Impact Blue and White Routes

University of Kentucky Big Blue Move continues this week, as more first-year and returning students arrive on campus. As a result of the traffic impacts of the Thursday, Aug. 17 and Friday, Aug. 18 Big Blue Move events, the campus Blue and White (Lextran 14) bus routes will be operating on modified routes on those days. The Blue and White routes will not serve stops along the north and east sides of campus, including on Avenue of Champions, Columbia Avenue, Hilltop Avenue, University Drive or Woodland Avenue.

Four buses will run on the modified route. All campus routes - as well as off-campus Lextran routes - are viewable in real-time on TransLoc Rider, UK’s GPS-based bus locating system. TransLoc Rider can be accessed at and via the free TransLoc Rider Android and iPhone apps. Users should be sure to select both Lextran and the University of Kentucky under Current Transit Systems in order to include the Blue, White and Green Routes data on the app.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, 7 days a week.
