Adult Learners Events

The Graduate Student Council will be hosting a series of virtual events for Adult Learners in June 2021. "Teaching and learning with student veterans" is a panel focusing on best practices for engaging with adult/mature learners at UK. Together with the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT), the panel will convene faculty and student veterans to discuss potential improvements to course instruction. The goal is to identify steps needed to create a more inclusive learning environment, particularly for student veterans. The panel will be hosted on Zoom and the proposed date is Tuesday, June 8, 2021 and an additional panel on Thursday, June 10. Family Resource kits will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis for UK students with children who reach out during Adult Learners events. For more information, please contact Edward Lo, edward.lo@uky.edu.

Update regarding online instruction during the pandemic

Letter from Mr. Tony Dotson, VRC Director, 17 March 2020

You may have already received an email from the VA regarding your benefits as related to our current pandemic.  The University of Kentucky is approved by the Kentucky State Approving Agency for Veterans Education to offer online courses. Therefore, UK’s move to online teaching will not affect your GI Bill benefits in any way.

Please note that all nonessential UK personnel are working remotely, therefore the Veterans Resource Center will remain closed until further notice.  Should you need assistance you may call (859) 257-1148 and leave a message that will be forwarded to email, or you can email directly to expedite the process:
