PHOTOS FROM THE MISSOURI SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF

Mike Butler conducts a fly tying class for the Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton, Mo. Mike started the program and receives no funds to conduct the class. He uses his own money to buy supplies, equipment, and his travel expenses to drive to the school ( Mike lives 30 miles away). His classes are usually attended by 10 to 20 kids. Mike, who is deaf, is an excellent fly tier and uses his skills to help those less fortunate than himself.

The Bahama trip giveaway (run by Sue K) in 1997 collected some excess funds and the FF@ list members chose to donate $600 in support of Mike's kids. The money was used to purchase equipment and supplies. By taking advantage of list members offers, we were able to make some fantastic buys. Mike's program is in great shape now - plenty of equipment and supplies to teach a quality class. The outpouring of this list was tremendous. A special thanks to Sue, Byard Miller, Dave Barron, Mike Kruse - ( gosh, I've forgotten somebody - sorry), and everyone that participated.
