Report on Exam 1 Curve The average score on Exam 1 was 60%, slightly higher than usual but within the typical range. If grades continue in this way, I will have to curve the final scores when applying course letter grades (as anticipated by the syllabus). So that you can determine where you stand in PS 101, I have applied my curving method to these exam scores. The letters are not in any sense binding, because right now the only official information you can have is where you rank in the class. But here are the letter-grade estimates for the exam: A 77 or higher B 55 thru just short of 77 C 43 thru just short of 55 D 27 thru just short of 43 E below a 27 You can use these scores as the estimate for your Midterm standing. Or, if you would like to request an estimate that takes into account any graded Response Papers, feel free to ask for that adjustment. You must do so by Friday at noon, though, if you want the adjustment reflected in your "official" Midterm Grade reported to the College. steve
