As I sit back
and reflect on my high school experience, I realize that there are certain
classes that had an enormous impact on me and I truly believe that I will take
the knowledge I gained from them with me through the rest of my life. One particular class I took my senior year
stands out to me: Systematic
Theology. This class essentially
“systematically” studied the doctrine of God; it was an in-depth look at
Christianity and discussed why we believed what we did. It sounded interesting, but when I received
my schedule, and saw this required class, I figured it would be the same old,
same old. I had attended a Christian
school for the majority of my life, and therefore had taken numerous Bible
classes. They all pretty much amounted
to the same thing, drilling us on the Ten Commandments, memorizing scripture,
and Bible stories, so of course I was expecting this class to be no
exception.
