In order for students to get the maximum benefits out of a class, teachers must teach them how to think critically.  It is important for teachers to keep in mind, especially when teaching a subject such as theology, that it is their job to inform students of all beliefs, not just theirs.  By incorporating group discussions and assignments into the class, students are able to learn much more than they would if the class was strictly a lecture.  Discussions make it much more interesting and therefore students will want to learn and take part in the class.  This was certainly the case for me in my senior theology class.  I learned so much more about this religion that I had grown up believing, and was now taught how to defend and support it.  This theology class also taught me much about myself and forced me to make decisions about my beliefs by myself.  Perhaps that is what I found so refreshing.  All of my life teachers had taught me what they believed, and what I ought to believe.  Though I never really questioned what they taught me, I loved how this class gave me alternative view points.  It forced me to think for myself.  Back to beginning
