Jane never believed in abortion until she was faced with this
horrible situation. Today, she is so relieved that it didn’t actually come to
her having to choose between lives, but that doesn’t mean it is not right to
have an abortion. Jane does not think abortion should be outlawed, because of
situations like her own. I completely agree with her. Abortion is something
that is personal and cannot be declared right or wrong by society. If a person
is impregnated through stupidity or selfishness, an abortion is not right, but
in health-related and family-related situations, a personal decision should be
accepted. Jane had decided she didn’t want help making the decision from
anyone, not doctors, or her family.
She is
also a strong Christian, but at the time she didn’t even want to refresh her memory
on what the Bible says about abortion. All Jane wanted to do was follow her
heart and make the decision to have an abortion or not by what she was feeling
personally. Outlawing abortion is not fair to families all around the world.
The decision should be based on the situation at hand.
