Skin cancer is an ugly fight.  Especially with melanoma, the winners are rare.  Melanoma never completely goes away, and the risks of it coming back are always lingering.  The only way to stop melanoma, or any other skin cancer from winning, is to protect yourself from contracting the disease.  The only way to do that is to stay out of the ultraviolet rays.  The price to pay for the “sun-kissed glow” is not worth death.  If you want to be tan, there are many alternatives out there.  Industry is coming up with new, ingenious ways of looking tan without ever setting foot in front of an ultraviolet ray.  Some current alternatives are sunless tanners that come in a bottle, mystic tan, which is a machine that mists you from head to toe with a sunless tanning solution, and airbrush tanning which literally involves a person airbrushing you with a bronzing concoction.  These safe alternatives are a great way to look tan without all the damage, and if it is the sun you sincerely enjoy, then indulge.  Just be sure you are protected in a sunscreen of at least 15 SPF and you wear sunglasses.  If society insists on tan being attractive, then do it the healthy way, please; for your sake and your loved ones sake
