All answers below depend upon you signing in and reaching your “Dashboard.” You can always return to your Dashboard by clicking the link in the upper right hand corner of your screen that says Dashboard.

Q: How do I create a new blog entry?

A: Go to Create New Post.

Q: How do I edit or erase an old blog entry?

A: Go to Manage: Posts. You can Edit or Delete from this screen.

Q: How do I change my blog’s title?

A: Go to Manage: Settings: Basics. Title is the first line.

Q: How do I change my template pattern?

A: Go to Manage: Layout: Pick New Template.

Q: How do I add a link?

A: To add WITHIN a blog entry: While creating new post, click on the “Link” icon (between “Text Color” and “Align Left”) and enter the URL.

To add ON THE SIDE of your blog: From Dashboard, go to Manage: Layout: Add Page Element: Link List. Enter URL(s).

Q: How do I add a photo or image?

A: To add WITHIN a blog entry: While creating new post, click on the “Add Image” icon (between “Spell Check” and “Add Video”).

To add ON THE SIDE of your blog: From Dashboard, go to Manage: Layout: Add Page Element: Picture.

Whether adding an image WITHIN or ON THE SIDE, you can:

1. Enter an image from your own computer by browsing and selecting

2. Enter an image from the web. To do so, open a new browser window and go to www.google.com. Select “Images” from the upper left hand-corner. Enter a keyword in the search field. Select your image. Click “see full-size image” so that you can get the web address for just that image (without its surrounding content.) Copy that address, and paste in the URL field on the blogger.com Add Picture page. Adjust size and layout accordiningly.

Q: How can I add other cool content—like a poll or video bar—to the side of my page?

A: Go to Manage: Layout: Add Page Element and see the list of options.

Q: How can I restrict who views my blog?

A: Go to Manage: Settings: Permissions. Go to Blog Readers and select “Only people I choose.” Enter the email addresses of your blog readers. Remember that the smallest audience you may have is your workshop group + Kathy. Find email addresses on the Contact Page on our website. You are welcome to add others (family, friends, etc.)

Q: How can I make sure that I get an email whenever someone comments on my blog?

A: Go to Manage: Settings: Comments. Scroll to the bottom and enter your email address in “Comment Notification Email.”
