Proposal / Making Change: Does the writer clearly articulate what needs to change to alleviate this issue? Does the writer explain what is being done about the problem right now? What still needs to be done? What will happen in the future if nothing is done? What else would you like to know? PLEASE ANSWER THOROUGHLY.

Conclusion: Does the conclusion convince you of the significance of the issue, whether by returning to the individual or looking forward at the “bigger picture”? Does the essay “end with a bang”? What suggestions can you make?

Research: Does the amount and type of research seem suitable for this investigation? Is the evidence convincing? Is both field and traditional research integrated smoothly? What other facts / details / information would be useful? Make specific comments.

Structure. Macro-level: Did one paragraph lead logically to another? How about transitions and connections between material? Note places (incl. pg #s) where you found either really strong transitions or ones that needed work.
