Minor Essay 1 The Sweet Whiff of Victory
This essay is about my experience as a student manager on the sidelines of the extremely emotional University of Kentucky football game that took place on November 17, 2001 versus the University of Tennessee. This game was boiling over with excitement but the lid of disappointment was quickly slammed down to leave me along with the rest of the team feeling the shock of a 2-7 season.

This was my first assignment for ENG 102 and the first webpage I had ever attempted. As you can tell, I've improved from my first attempt at my web-essay for Minor Essay 1 to this homepage. I hope that you enjoy this essay and that it really does put you on the sidelines of one of the most emotional games in my life.

Major Essay 1 One More Chance at Life, A Gift from a Stranger
In February of 1999, at the age of 24, my aunt, Cindy Claypoole Kuhlman, received a kidney and pancreas transplant after battling with Type 1 diabetes for 17 years. This essay is about everything she went through and the wonderful gift of life that was given to her by a stranger and that stranger's family. Hopefully a cure will be found for diabetes but until then, and until a cure is found for all terminal illnesses so that no one ever gets sick, organ donation and transplantation will be the only hope left for many people. I urge you to read this essay and learn about my aunt's story and the facts behind donation so that you can make an informed decision about donation and you can make sure that your wishes will be carried out.

This essay was hard to write at times. The words seemed to just flow but often my own emotions got between me and the paper. I have to thank my mom and grandmother for all of their help with this project. I spent countless hours on the phone with both of them, trying to get facts and dates right. They helped me to collect memories and pictures along with facts. I know this was an emotional project for them too but they both stood strong and made sure that I had all the support they could give me. Thank you Grandma and Mom! I love you both!
