Paper Topics:
A one-paragraph
description of your paper is DUE On Monday week 12 April 7
The paragraph should
describe what the topic will be and how this topic relates to class
materials. A thesis statement is
desirable. The aim of this
exercise is to provide the opportunity to direct the research papers and
suggest possible sources.
You should also provide a
bibliography of 5 citations with your 1-paragraph paper description. Citations must be from scholarly
sources and not from the internet (one on-line citation is okay*). These are sources that you should have
already consulted and have (at least copies) in your possession. Please note that there may well be a
run on Mexico materials at the end of the semester, so you are better off
getting and copying materials as soon as possible.
The final paper will be
due Tuesday May 13th (Finals week). The paper should be
approximately 20 pages in length, with 10 citations, only two of internet
origin.* Alternative paper arrangements are possible (number, composition,
length) if mutually agreed upon by professor and student prior to the due date.
*by internet I mean to
indicate materials such as web pages that have not been peer reviewed. The
library has a large list of online journals from which you may download
articles. These are peer-reviewed sources and fully acceptable.
