The Workshop is oriented towards local elected officials and community leaders who face public conflict every day and who feel they need to strengthen their conflict resolution skills.  Citizens who may not serve in a leadership capacity are also welcome to attend. 
Workshop Leaders 
Ron Hustedde, Ph.D. is an experienced public conflict resolution educator.   Hustedde is a faculty member at the University of Kentucky; he has been involved as a neutral to address a variety of public disputes.

Text Box: This hands-on workshop is designed to give Kentucky elected and community leaders more skills and knowledge to address public conflicts. 
Participants will learn: 
1) How to strengthen the positive aspects of public conflicts;
2) The strengths and weaknesses of one’s own conflict resolution style;
3) The five different approaches towards addressing public conflict; 
4) How to reframe an issue in a way that is not divisive; 
5) How to increase opportunities for agreement;
6) Practical tools for addressing public conflict as an advocate and with neutrals;
7) Evaluating options and reaching agreement;
Participants will get practical experience in addressing a variety of conflicts and will be guided by experienced Kentucky conflict educators and mediators.  This workshop has received consistently high ratings whenever it has been offered.

The $129 registration fee covers a light breakfast, lunch, breaks and materials.
