Accounting Procedures for IPM Funded Projects

Project Accounting

Beginning with the 2000 fiscal year (FY2000), every project will be given a project identification code. This project identification code must be written on every bill that goes in to be paid. By doing this we can keep up with what is being spent. This accounting is internal to KY-IPM; it is not a department, college or university procedure.

Availability of Support

Because of changes in Federal programs, projects will no longer be able to carry funds past the end of the fiscal year in which the award was made.

• For multi-year projects, annual funds will be available on October 1 of each year.

• For annual projects, funds will be available as soon as you receive your letter of notification.

Beginning with the funds available October 1, 1999 (Fiscal Year 2000), funds must be expended by the last day of the following September.

For example, if you receive support for a FY2001 project, you must use that support by September 31, 2001.
