Yellow Nutsedge (Cyperus esculentus)

Yellow nutsedge is a perennial and spreads easily since it reproduces by rhizomes, tubers, and seeds.

One key in the identification of yellow nutsedge is the simple, triangular-shaped stem of the plant.

This weed can be found throughout Kentucky in cultivated fields, gardens, roadsides and turf.
