The University of Kentucky Small Grain Variety Testing Program conducts research on hulless and traditional hulled barely. Primary areas of interest are: Evaluating experimental barley breeding lines and variety testing of commercially available barley varieties; Effects of nitrogen fertility on barley yield and growth characteristics; Barley grain composition and new uses for barley.
Barley variety performance and evaluation of breeding lines are available at the UK Small Grain Variety Testing site, see Trial Archives.
