readings and resources informing the project

Letters from Devastation is both a scholarly and a pedagogical effort. It involved a team of students in a junior-level honors seminar working collaboratively with their instructor on a project that involved a combination of theoretical, practical, and technical literacies spanning archival, textual, editorial, and historical disciplines. In line with the ethos of open and accessible resources that underwrites much of the digital humanities, the following list of course readings is provided both to better contextualize the production of the edition and to provide ideas for instructors who may be planning a similar course or student research experience.
