photo Terri KanatzerSeptember 2, 2008 - Starting in September, the CARE Group meeting locations will be changing to better
serve you. We will have only two CARE Groups meeting monthly. The South Campus
CARE Group will meet the Second Thursday of each month in CTW Building, Room
322. The North Campus CARE Group will meet the Third Thursday of each month in
Peterson Service Building, Room 379. Meetings are from Noon – 1 p.m. Please help
communicate these changes with colleagues, and invite newcomers to join! For more
information, contact Elder Care at 323-4600.

University of Kentucky Elder Care is a free employee benefit established to support regular full-time and part-time UK faculty, staff, retirees and their spouses nationwide who help their parents, spouses and other older family members. Our staff can assist by providing information, consultation, guidance, referrals, and by helping caregivers to plan ahead. The Elder Care Program has assisted employees with elders in 46 states ... Goals

The goals of U.K. Eldercare are to provide University Families with :

  • immediate attention to employee elder care needs
  • assistance in identifying current elder care needs
  • detailed and personal referrals to community services
  • a handbook on providing care to older family members
  • printed information relevant to needs, such as fact sheets
  • ongoing support to the employee, such as family counseling
  • a program evaluation opportunity for all employees using the service
  • the same quality of service for all employees regardless of sex, race, or job classification
  • seminars related to elder care issues
