HR Student Employment’s job is to help STUDENTS find jobs while attending the University of Kentucky and to help EMPLOYERS by advertising positions and screening students to be referred for consideration.

  • Online job posting lists flexible student jobs in a variety of fields on- & off-campus.
  • Screening interviews match students with jobs that fit individual skills, schedules, and interests.
  • Referrals put students in contact with employers who will know you meet their requirements.

 

NEWS: University of Kentucky Tobacco-Free!

The University of Kentucky campus will become completely tobacco-free on all campus grounds and parking areas on November 19, 2009. Please click here for more information.

NEWS: Student Nurse Academic Practicum (SNAP)

UK HealthCare's Chandler & Good Samaritan Hospitals and the UK College of Nursing have collaborated to create SNAP to give you the real-life tools you need to succeed and the opportunity to experience life as a nurse with UK HealthCare. Please click HERE for more information on this program.

 

NEWS: FREE money for employers!

Area employers providing meaningful employment opportunities for UK students may qualify to be reimbursed a portion of wages paid to eligible students. Other area businesses have received THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS in reimbursements. If your business signs up during the current academic year we may be able to reimburse you for a portion of wages dating back to September 2008!

Students click HERE. Give yourself an edge in finding and keeping a career related position. If you already have a job please let us know. We may be able to reimburse your employer which could provide them with more money to keep you employed!

NEWS: 2008-2009 Student Employee of the Year

James "Tyler" Bolin is the 2008-2009 UK Student Employee of the Year. Tyler works in the Office of Student Involvement and was nominated by his supervisor, Karen Doyle. Tyler and the other nominees and their respective supervisors attended the 2nd Annual Student Employee of the Year Banquet on Tuesday, April 7. Dean Victor Hazard provided opening remarks and was followed by guest speakers Brian Troyer and Mandee McGee (last year's nominating supervisor and winner). Be sure to watch for 2009-2010 Student Employee of the Year information on our web site in November & December!

To get a job through HR Student Employment, just complete these four steps:

  1. Complete an online application
  2. Select jobs that interest you
  3. Attend a screening interview
  4. Tell us when you are hired

HR Student Employment conducts screening interviews from 12:30 - 4:00 Monday through Friday or by appointment.

Federal Work-Study jobs are being posted to the Online Employment System. The Financial Aid Office has made it possible for students to find more jobs in one location!
