Walking Wednesdays begins May 28!

Walking Wednesdays is open to ALL faculty and staff. The UK Health & Wellness Program and UK VIP Center offer the program as a simple way for UK faculty and staff to network and get fit. Walkers will receive a punch card and for every five walks, get a prize. Meet fellow walkers at the corner of Rose and Washington every Wednesday at 12:10. The program runs through October 8. FREE Wellness Conference

The 2008 UK Health & Wellness Conference is Friday, May 16. What’s on the menu? A day full of practical information on how to sleep better, decrease stress, build relationships, be more healthy, and more. Admission is FREE for UK employees, retirees, spouses, and sponsored dependents.

Q: I’m no longer in my 20s. How should my exercise routine change as I age? Can exercise really fight the signs of aging?

A: Age does increase our risk for certain diseases. If we have a family history of a certain disease, then we are hit with a double whammy. So, exercise and diet are two key components that can help us age gracefully and hopefully do so with fewer problems. Knowledge and action are the keys to fight the signs of aging.
