Work+Life Connections is a voluntary, confidential counseling and referral service that provides support for UK individuals and families. This benefit includes free and reduced-fee counseling with a licensed therapist. Additionally, we offer training for supervisors and departments on topics ranging from managing stress to processing grief to helping prevent suicide. Please note that "Family Counseling" does not include couples or marriage counseling. We encourage you to contact the REFER Counseling Service (UK Family Center) for counseling provided by UK graduate students or a local, licensed marraige and family therapist.

University of Kentucky Elder Care is a free employee benefit established to support regular full-time and part-time UK faculty, staff, retirees and their spouses nationwide who help their parents, spouses and other older family members. Our staff can assist by providing information, consultation, guidance, referrals, and by helping caregivers to plan ahead. If needed, we can help employees work through feelings of fear, anger, resentment or guilt that can arise when helping older family members.

The Office of Work-Life is excited to bring you the 3rd Annual Summer Camps Fair on Friday, March 4 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Hilary J. Boone Center located at 500 Rose Street. This is the premier opportunity for UK faculty and staff to find a camp(s) that interests your child(ren) and fits your family's summer schedule. You will be able to meet with camp directors and staff from more than 40 programs focused on everything from the arts to sports to academics. And, again this year, you can find summer childcare provided by UK students in our Big Blue Family Care program. As always, you are welcome to bring your spouse/partner and kids with you to this event. Click here for a preliminary list of camps and to register.

Big Blue Family Care is a network of current UK students, who offer occasional caregiving (i.e. child care, pet care) to UK faculty and staff. Each caregiver has created a profile so you can learn more about them, their caregiving background and certifications, availability, and contact information. Each Big Blue Family Care provider has passed a national background check. Students providing child care have also passed a CPR class that includes certification for infants. Rate of pay and logistics are negotiated between UK faculty or staff member and the care provider.
