The University Committee on Academic Planning and Priorities (UCAPP) is asked to participate in the strategic planning process aimed at implementing the Top 20 Business Plan by assisting and advising the President, Provost and executive vice presidents in developing the specific actions necessary to achieve the Top 20 vision and mission, including:

  • Advising in the identification of academic priorities;
  • Revising the university-wide strategic plan;
  • Recommending criteria and principles for resource allocations to support the strategic plan as well as the annual operating budget and capital planning;
  • Monitoring success in achieving intended outcomes, and recommending appropriate changes to the Strategic Plan as necessary.

Committee responsibilities will also include environmental scanning to stay current with internal and external trends and demands; regular, transparent communication with the campus community and external constituents; and serving in an advisory capacity to special planning, budgeting and assessment activities, as needed.
