The Interdisciplinary Arts Minor allows students to design their own minor with coursework across at least two disciplines in the College of Fine Arts. The minor is intended to deepen an appreciation for and encourage a lifelong engagement in the arts.

What You'll Study

 

As the most flexible minor in the College of Fine Arts, the Interdisciplinary Arts Minor allows students to craft their own course of study in at least two arts disciplines. Students may combine art studio and theatre, dance and music or the combination that allows them to pursue their interests most closely. 

 

 

Students with Majors outside the College of Fine Arts

  1. 6 credit hours of 100-level courses in a minimum of two College of Fine Arts disciplines (AAD, A-E, A-H, A-S, ART, FA, MUC, MUP, MUS, TA or TAD); and
  2. 6 credit hours of 200-level or above courses in a minimum of two College of Fine Arts disciplines (AAD, A-E, A-H, A-S, ART, FA, MUC, MUP, MUS, TA or TAD); and
  3. 6 credit hours of College of Fine Arts elective courses at any level.

Only three credit hours from courses taken to fulfill a requirement in another major or minor can be used to meet the requirements of the Interdisciplinary Arts minor.

Students with Majors in the College of Fine Arts

1. 6 credit hours of 100-level courses in a minimum of two College of Fine Arts disciplines (AAD, A-E, A-H, A-S, ART, FA, MUC, MUP, MUS, TA or TAD); and
2. 6 credit hours of 200-level or above courses in a minimum of two College of Fine Arts disciplines (AAD, A-E, A-H, A-S, ART, FA, MUC, MUP, MUS, TA or TAD); and
3. 6 credit hours of College of Fine Arts elective courses at any level.
 
Students pursuing a major within the College of Fine Arts must select courses outside of their major discipline.
 
Only three credit hours from courses taken to fulfill a requirement in another major or minor can be used to meet the requirements of the Interdisciplinary Arts minor.
