Dr. Scotty Dunlap, Director of the OS core, is an Associate Professor in the School of Safety, Security and Emergency Management. His teaching is directed towards graduate occupational safety courses. His current research is in the area of industry leader development and involvement in workplace safety and health and safety management system assessment as well as OSHA compliance, DOT compliance, behavior-based safety, and organizational safety culture. His work has appeared in Professional Safety, the Online Journal of Distance Learning Administration, the Journal of Emergency Medical Services, and World Grain Magazine. He has published textbooks on motor carrier safety, auditing, and school safety. Authored a mainstream leadership book titled "Protecting Our Most Valuable Asset" that addresses the value and need for organizational leaders to integrate occupational safety into daily operations. In addition to his work responsibilities, Dr. Dunlap served on the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Risk Assessment Institute (www.oshrisk.org) and is a member of the US Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for the establishment of ISO 45001 - Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems.

Dr. David H. Stumbo, OHST is an Associate Professor in Eastern Kentucky University’s Department of Safety, Security, and Emergency Management. He has worked in occupational safety & health for over 20 years, including various positions within the Kentucky OSH Program including Compliance Officer, Industrial Hygiene Consultant, and Safety Program Manager. David is the Principal of Stumbo Safety Solutions, LLC, which specializes in providing onsite safety and health consultation and training services to small-sized employers and start-ups. Dr. Stumbo holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from Murray State University, Master of Science from Kentucky State University in Public Administration, Master of Science from Eastern Kentucky University in Safety, Security, and Emergency Management, Associate degree from Columbia Southern University in Fire Science, and Doctorate degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. David is also a Board Member of the Kentucky Safety and Health Network, a Certified Occupational Safety and Health Technologist, and has provided training at EKU’s OTEIC since 2004
