(3 of 33) Termination of Enamel Secretion When the ameloblasts (A) stop secreting enamel (B) they shorten. The condensed overlying epithelial cells (C) of the dental organ are attached to one another by numerous desmosomes. For this reason they resemble cells of the stratum spinosum when viewed at higher magnification. Note the numerous capillaries just outside this epithelial layer (D).
