I used to think that I didn’t want anyone
else walking around with my heart, or my eyes even. Now that I look back on the way that I was, I
realize that I was being selfish, inconsiderate of others, and stupid. No one needs their organs after they die,
therefore we should share life and health with others who still have a chance
at living. Madison is now a
strong, healthy young lady who plans on becoming a surgeon someday because of
her experience.
She is an organ donor and for a good
reason. A little 12 year old girl died
in a car accident so that Madison could
live. Madison is eternally
grateful to that little girl and she still prays for her family. A close friend of my family just passed away
2 days ago because of heart failure. He
needed a heart transplant but there weren’t any to give him, so he passed
away. I guess he is one of the 10 people
who die every day due to a lack of organ donations. I hate to think of him as a statistic, but to
realize that numbers are really actual people, with families and friends who
love and care for them, sometimes one has to experience it first hand. Everyone should share their life, and their
decision.
