Visitor Center FAQ
Where do I park when visiting the University of Kentucky?
Parking instructions will be sent to you via email. Visitors to campus should park in the South Limestone Garage know as Parking Structure #5. The street address for Parking Structure #5 is 409 S Limestone St. Lexington, KY 40508.

Who are the Campus Visits geared towards?
Campus visits through the Visitor Center are geared towards prospective undergraduate students and their families. Prospective graduate or professional students are encouraged to contact the particular schools with which they are interested.
How long will the entire visit last?
The information session is 30 minutes and is followed by a 90-minute walking tour. You should allow approximately two hours for your visit.
Can I visit an advisor in a department or special program?
Yes, representatives or specific information sessoins are available for all academic colleges, as well as in programs such as Honors Program, ROTC, Undergraduate Research, UK Marching Band, and Educatoin Abroad. Be aware that some colleges only offer open houses on certain dates and some also limit their availability to certain days of the week. Please make your reservations at least two weeks in advance. Can I sit in on a class?
Yes, please explore our visit a class page to find schedule a class that fits into your itinerary. Please schedule at least two weeks ahead.
How early should I make reservations with the Visitor Center?
Please reserve your visit as early as possible, preferably two to three weeks in advance. Guests will receive a confirmation email shortly after registration yet only receive a letter in the mail if they register two weeks in advance.
What if the available dates don’t work with my schedule?
If you are unable to make it to campus while the Visitor Center is open, you are welcome to view our online virtual tour. Additionally, we are happy to mail in advance a copy of our campus map, which includes a self-guided tour. You may contact us to request material.
Can I participate in an overnight visit?
Unfortunately, UK does not provide accommodations for an overnight stay on campus. If you need hotel accommodations, please visit our Travel Information page to find lodging close to campus.
What do we do in case of inclement weather?
Tours will be given rain or shine. In case of snow or ice, please call the Visitor Center before coming to campus. Any cancelations or delays will be noted on our website and through the email provided during registration. Please dress appropriately because it is an outdoor, walking tour of campus, and unfortunately, we do not provide rain gear.
What if I need to cancel a reservation?
If you are unable to make your appointment, please give us a call as soon as you know that you will not be here. This allows us to make those spots available to other students. Alternatively, you may email us.
Can I turn in an application during my visit?
Yes. You can leave your application with one of the Visitor Center directors or take it to the admission office while on campus.
Is it ever too early in a high school career to make a college visit?
No. The earlier you start looking at colleges the more time you will have to make an informed decision. We welcome visitors of all ages.
