To expedite your admissions review and to maximize your admissions potential, carefully follow these instructions.

Freshmen

UK students and Faculty

The University of Kentucky categorizes freshmen by the following types:

  • A freshman with no college work
  • A freshman enrolled in college work taken prior to high school graduation and applying for a term after graduation
  • A freshman with 23 or fewer hours of college work since high school graduation

Deadlines

Fall: February 15
Spring: October 15
Summer I: February 15
Summer II: February 15

Requirements

  • FAP - Freshman applicants must submit the following:
    1. Application for Undergraduate Admission
    2. Test Scores: Official results for either the ACT (American College Testing) or the SAT I (Scholastic Assessment Test) are required. Arrangements to take either test may be made through your high school counselor's office. Indicate to the testing service that an official score report should be sent to the University of Kentucky (ACT-1554; SAT-1837). Student copies, high school report copies, or scores from high school transcripts will not be accepted.
    3. Transcripts: Attach an official high school transcript to the application. This transcript should reflect grades through at least six semesters of high school work. If you are a high school graduate, submit a complete official transcript including the date of graduation.
    4. Non-Refundable Application Processing Fee: Attach $50 in cash, check, or money order made payable to the University of Kentucky. Full-time UK employees who submit a copy of their UK staff card are not required to pay the processing fee.

  • FPW or FRX - Freshman applicants with 23 or fewer semester hours earned or in progress must submit the following:

    1. Application for Undergraduate Admission
    2. Test Scores: Official results for either the ACT (American College Testing) or the SAT I (Scholastic Assessment Test) must be submitted. Student copies, high school report copies, or scores from high school transcripts will not be accepted.
    3. Transcripts: Submit a complete official high school transcript including the date of graduation. An official transcript must also be submitted from each college or university attended even if no credit was earned.
    4. Non-Refundable Application Processing Fee: Attach $50 in cash, check, or money order made payable to the University of Kentucky. Full-time UK employees who submit a copy of their UK staff card are not required to pay the application processing fee.
