Welcome visiting students! If you’re a visiting (transient) student taking classes at the University of Kentucky and plan for them to transfer back to your home institution you will find the information you need here.
The University of Kentucky categorizes visiting (transient) applicants by the following type:

Visiting (transient) applicants must submit the following:
- UK Application for Undergraduate Admission
- Good Standing Letter: Official letter of good standing including grade point average. Visiting students may substitute the Visiting Student Form instead of a letter of Good Standing.
- Non-Refundable Application Processing Fee: Attach $50 in cash, check, or money order made payable to the University of Kentucky. Full-time UK employees applying to take classes and who submit a copy of their UK staff card are not required to pay the processing fee.
Note: Visiting students who request upper division courses should be prepared to provide a transcript to demonstrate prerequisites before registration.
