Spring 2008 Oral Presentations of ABT 395/399 Research Projects
and Competition for:
The Glenn B. Collins
Undergraduate Research Achievement Award
in
Agricultural Biotechnology
- Currently, oral ABT 395 research presentations are scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM, on Tuesday April 22, 2008 and Thursday, April 24, 2008 (during dead-week) in the ground floor auditorium (Cameron Williams Lecture Hall) of the Plant Science Building.
- PowerPoint presentations should be 10-15 minutes in length. A 2-3 minute question and answer session with the audience will follow each presentation.
- Individual student practice sessions (PowerPoint slideshow) can be arranged and held with the course coordinator, Dr. James Matthews during the week of April 13, 2008 (or before). Alternatively, Dr. Matthews can review your presentation and make suggestions through e-mail, if your send your Powerpoint file at least 2 days beofre you present during the week of April 20, 2008.
- Monetary awards will be given to the top two presentations.
- Attending ABT Coordination Committee members will judge the presentations. Judges will confer after the last presentation of each session and the winners will be announced during the ABT Program reception (see below) on Thursday, April 24, 2008.
- The ABT Program will host a reception after the April 24th session in the atrium of the Plant Science Building (outside of the Cameron Williams Lecture Hall) to honor the student presenters and their mentors. The Glenn Collins Undergraduate Research Achievement Awards will be presented by Dr. Bruce Webb (ABT Program Director) during this reception.
