Nursery and Nursery Dealer Licensing Information

Remember, when in doubt as to which application fits your business, just ask us!

NOTE License Year: Nursery License Fees are based on July 1 - June 30 of each fiscal year and Nursery Dealer License Fees are based on January 1 - December 31 of each calendar year.

Customers purchasing plant or plant products from a person or company they are doing business with should ask if they have one of the licenses listed below (compliant with Kentucky state law - KRS 249). Ask for proof of the license or contact Joe Collins before making any transaction(s).

Class A

Nursery License

If you are a nursery actively growing nursery stock (field or container production) you need a:
Class A Nursery license application.

Class B

Nursery License

If you are a nursery or garden center that does not grow nursery stock, but overwinters a portion of stock; you need a:
Class B Nursery license application.

Class A

Nursery Dealer License

If you are a landscaper or business that does not grow or overwinter your nursery stock but whose primary business involves the sale or planting of nursery stock; you need a:
Class A Nursery Dealer license application.

Class B

Nursery Dealer License

If you are a business whose primary business is not the sale of nursery stock; you need a:
Class B Nursery Dealer license application.
