UK College of Education Emeritus professor dies at age 82

Dr. Abdelmonem Rizk   
Dr. Abdelmonem Rizk, 82, widower of Dr. Carol Taylor Rizk, died Thurs., Mar. 31, 2005 at his residence. Dr. Rizk was an emeritus faculty member from the College of Education’s Kinesiology and Health Promotion program.

Born in Cairo, Egypt, he attended the College of Physical Education in Cairo. He went on to receive his master's degree from Indiana University in Bloomington and his doctorate from the University of Kentucky.

Rizk was a physical education professor for over sixty years. He taught at numerous colleges all over the world including UK, Indiana University and Eastern Kentucky University.

He ended his career as a college professor with the University of Kentucky, where he taught physical education majors, fencing, soccer, and other athletic activities.

Rizk founded and coached the University of Kentucky fencing and soccer programs.
