Whitley County, Kentucky

Whitley county is located in the eastern coal field region in southeastern Kentucky along the border with Tennessee. It was formed from Knox county in 1818 and named for Col. William Whitley. The county seat is Williamsburg and the largest town is Corbin. The population of the county in 1990 was 33,326.

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is located in western Whitley county.
