Fancy Farm, Kentucky

Fancy Farm is a Graves county town about eleven miles northwest of Mayfield. The town grew up around St. Jerome Church, built in 1836, and the first post office opened in 1843. The name of the town is said to have come from the well-tended farm of an early settler.

Since 1880 Fancy Farm has been the home of the annual Fancy Farm Picnic. Held on the grounds of Fancy Farm Elementary School, formerly the St. Jerome Parish School, on the first Saturday in August, it has become a traditional venue for politcal campaigning.
