Pippa Passes is a Knott county village on Caney Creek about five miles east of Hindman. The town is named for a character in the work of Robert Browning, but is also known as Caney or Caney Creek. The post office opened in 1917. The population in 1990 was 340.

Pippa Passes is the home of Alice Lloyd College.
