PAST SEMINARS & WORKSHOPS
The King Library Press invites you to enjoy a weekend devoted to typographic art and the arts of the book. Two lectures, two exhibits, and a workshop have been planned to offer you a varied experience in the field of graphic design. Hear a presentation on the rich achievement of a nineteenth-century French type designer, and see examples of his imaginative alphabets printed in London from the original wood type. Hear a lecture on the lore of the bookplate and see and exhibition of bookplates created by two contemporary artists, Masao Ohba of Japan and W. Jakubowski of Poland. Join a workshop to see examples of bookplates from Lexington private libraries and from collectors such as Alfred Cortot and Jean Hersholt, and others created by such artists as W. A. Dwiggins, John DePol, and Leo Wyatt; and work at the King Library Press to create a bookplate of your own. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS BOOK ARTS LECTURES
