TWINROCKER HANDMADE PAPER creates papers for artists and printers using historic craft techniques and traditional cotton and linen rags — but also with a contemporary aesthetic eye.

Twinrocker was begun in San Francisco in 1971 by Howard and Kathryn Clark, who brought together the abilities of a mechanical engineer and a watercolorist (who is also a twin). Later they moved to the small-town setting of Brookston, Indiana, where their studio, with a staff of fine craftspersons, creates handmade papers of international reputation.

Among the celebrated users of Twinrocker papers are such artists as Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, Robert Motherwell, and Jim Dine. Other clients include Arion Press, Alfred A. Knopf, and the Whitney Museum.
